I've been watching too many MvC2 videos... The instant I heard Magneto's

"Playtime is over.", I expected it to be immediately followed up with "The Battle for survival begins. Begin!"
Zangief sure was

sexy.

I don't know of any places in

Tokyo with XSF comp, but I went with ozy to an arcade in Yokohama to play. They only had it on a single cab (read: not a head-to-head

cab). If you prefer American sticks, I'm sure they would have no problem playing at someone's house, too. You know...'cause it's

free and all...

Just send a PM or an e-mail when the time draws near, and we can hook up for some XSF.

That was actually the first arcade I've seen that has XSF, so I'm going to guess people

don't play it much in the arcades here. And yes, the serials worked. Thank you very much!

ozy said he plans on uploading a few

more matches, so stay tuned!

I've talked to Ozy a few times and he said XvsSF was one of the few

fighting games he played. Of course he may not have fully understood what I asked him at the time.......I was talking about Meikyousisui

and asked him if he played MvC2 or something I can't remember. Anyways, it was a very good vid and can't wait to see more Ozy vids.

Are you using 3K Lariat? 3P causes the flying screen and you can't jump

after you relaunch. Also as opposed to relaunching, you can just jump up, jab, 3K lariat, repeat that, then relaunch if you wish.

Whichever is easier, or more stylin' :boing

NKI- I have a question about rogue. How can they rush with

rogue by doing a constant MK? I try cancelling the MK with a dash but I cant get it to be as fast as they do it.

Also a question

about a corner combo with ryu. this has to do with FSD I am sure. I do this combo: Launch, Lp,Lk, Mk, up+Hk. up+Hk,(land) lk,

forward+Mk, Lp, Launch, Repeat. Now, sometimes I can repeat that combo as many times as I want, and other times I cant even repeat one

rep because of FS. Why is it that sometimes I can do it like 4 or 5 reps and other times I cant do it after the first one?

I'm pretty sure they're using LK for that

lock/rushdown, not MK, but I could be wrong. Rogue LK is very quick, hits somewhat high, and makes for good dash string lockdown, either

way. You can't cancel either move into a dash, but the recovery on LK is low enough that you can dash right after it, and keep most

characters in blockstun. None of it works once Advancing Guard cancel makes it get ugly though.

And, that Ryu combo sets FS. The

reason you can sometimes repeat it, and sometimes can't, is because sometimes you're FSDing, and sometimes you're not. The random

factor is you. The timing for FSD is almost always very strict, so it's hard to do reliably, and easy to do when you're not expecting

it. Also, I'm assuming you're doing this combo on Version 1? That hopkick -> jab juggle link would be extremely difficult on Version

2/3.(The way you can check.. If you do the hopkick, and mash Jab.. If the jab comes out before you land, then it's version 1.)

Alright thanks. I am using the Euro version of xvsf. I guess I just

have to mess with that Ryu combo some more. It would just confuse the hell out of me that I could do it 4 times in a row one time then

not even be able to do it twice other times. FS s messing with me head.

In XSF, there are four FSD methods that I'm aware of.

The first and

easiest way is to simply OTG really late. I believe this only works with certain moves though, so it is not reliable. The only two

examples I know of are Dhalsim's far j.RH and Juggernaut's Juggernaut Punch. For Sim, end an air combo with far j.RH to cause FS,

then wait as long as possible, do any OTG move, and it will cause FSD. With Juggernaut, any OTG after Jab Juggernaut Punch will cause

FSD, which is why Jab Juggernaut Punch, cr.Short xx Headcrush is inescapable.

The second way is a little bit harder, but a lot

more useful. If you use a tripping move to hit the opponent out of the air, and it causes the opponent to go into falling-to-the-ground

animation, you can OTG afterwards to cause FSD. Easiest example is Storm vs. Storm, with the opponent in the corner, end an air combo

with falling j.Fierce, land, juggle the falling opponent with st.Jab->st.Strong->cr.Forward (trip), OTG with st.RH to cause

FSD.

The third way is to simply combo a throw.

The fourth ways is the hardest, but also the most consistent and most

useful. Simply hit the opponent on the last frame of hit-stun to cause FSD. The timing depends on what move you are trying to FSD

from. To get the timing right, do that particular part of the combo with gradually slower and slower timing until it eventually

uncombos, then do it just one frame faster, and you should get FSD. Easier said than done...

I'm a big fan of NKI's combo and glitch vids but this match wasn't a big

deal to me. It's nice to see the old Saturn XSF gettin some play but what was I supposed to be impressed by there? The fact that they

can 'almost' pull of some nice combos?

Is it just me or has ComboVideos turned into MatchVideos.com. I wouldn't mind some

crazy Daigo or Evo shit but please enough of the mediocre match vids.

Are you kidding me? Some of the combos in your XSF vids are

amazing. Not to mention you're the guy who discovered the 'create your own double super' glitch.

Actually I take back what

I said because 1. I've never seen people/don't think people play XSF competively, and I've never seen really high level play, so I

wouldn't know 'XSF skills' if I saw them. So I guess I would have to be playing it myself (man its been a while too) to know if that

person was good or not.

I'm not opposed to seeing match vids from more obscure games ( I recently dl'ed a bunch of Jojo's

and Vampire Savior tournament vids that were pretty dope), but I still think that there have been too many as of late.

p.s. NKI,

dude, you need to get into 3rd Strike. Every time I read your thread at SRK you're talking about super turbo! Get with the times man

(ok so 3rd Strike came out 5 years ago...still lol).

Totally, I want my money back. :((

Small joke. :u.u

The fact

is, these are casual matches, played by some talented XvsSF players(NKI too, fo sho), so although they're not 'cutthroat

competition(re: boring)', they are filled with lots of dope tricks and combos and otherwise good stuff.

I.E.: That dhalsim

rushdown/combos were ridiculous.. All he was missing was Inferno -> nOTG followups. o_O

wyda - actually, Mike Z is the one who found the CYODS glitch, and he's the

one who told me about it. I can't take credit for his finding. As for 3rd Strike, watching the Japanese play almost makes me want to

start playing. Almost...

feartetsuo - which character specifically are you referring to?
