What improvements could be made to CV to make it more user friendly? Or what other things would you like to see?

Some things that are coming up in the near future (hopefully)

-Newsletter - will send you emails about CV updates
-New Design/layout

What do YOU want to see? Voice your opinions, it's very likely I'll try to implement it if I can.

It would be nice if there was a feature like on SRK that shows your XBL gamertag.

What about a way to setup polls in the threads like you can do on SRK

Hehe, thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming. I'm thinking moreso in terms of functionality, or features you'd like to see.

I've said it before....

Email notification to threads you posted in would be nice...
It's hard keeping track of all the threads some of us post in. I think this is one of the reasons a lot of good threads die prematurely. They end up forgotten.

i definitely agree with nitewalker.

the current layout is good but i'm curious how the new one will be.

and one more thing, what if we don't like the new layout? there should be something in our options to change it back or to switch between the new and old one

I hate when that happens.
But I think it would be cool if we recieved a PM, on new updates. Hehe, you should PM peepole to stop playing a game they're currently attached to, and convinces them to play another. Sorta like Jehovah's Witnesess.

In any fighting game, I love seeing the hits stack up to a shit load of numbers, and watching the red bar chasing the end of whats left from the enemys energy; Seeing damage Ive created, the aftermath done from the erased part of their lifebar, and knowing that I did that shit, gets me hyped. - Tricky

Yes! Don't make this place more like SRK!! We need original ideas!

What about a fanart page?

I think thread die prematurely cause we are lazy. So to help the lazyness you could make the list of topics on the front page up to 10 instead of 5. If you do that it is best if you put the poll above the forums thread list. That thing notifing what thread you posted in is a great idea...just like srk's subscribing to threads. It goes to show that this forum is more active now so it needs it. Bigger avatar sizes kb wise. Thats all I can think of for now I will come up with more later.

Of course make it optional so it doesn't bother everyone. I know some people don't like their email boxes being spammed with "[member name] has responded to a thread you are subscribed to".
The pm idea also sounds good, but as long as there isn't a 70 pm cap like srk.

Maybe some sort of centralized chat room or something? I know CV has a mirc channel but like no one uses it. Dunno know if there are any other options besides that for chat though. Or perhaps members being on instant messangers more (Nitewalker :P)

Seriously I think the idea of bigger avatars is a good one. But not overly big like Holyzen forums has...those pages take forever to load up. A thread or section for fanart or just art you come accross you'd like to share would be cool as well. Maybe a CV Kaillera server or something. That would attract more people I think. That one may be a bit farfeched though.

Edit: I really like the idea of an e-mail newsletter about updates to CV and such. Also maybe not e-mail notification about posts in threads, but an option of wether or not you want to watch the thread.

Low blow!
Yeah my aim is way underused...
Kids go back to school soon so I'll have more free time. School is not for kids. It's to preserve the sanity of their parents. Well, that and some

That's actually a great idea. You'd be able to mark a thread as a favorite and only get email or PM notification to those you marked. It's the way it works over at the woodnet forums. It's great.

Just messing :P I'll agree with you on the though

I'm liking that idea more the more i think about it. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with everything that goes on in forums. Would be a nice addition.

There will be an option to change the site back to the current look. It's just a 'skin' after all.

BBHood good idea - there will be 10 recent posts instead of 5 with the next layout.

Yeah - still working on the email notification for updates.

I wish there was an option to subscribe to threads or something... i'll look into it, but I doubt it.

An international section maybe where ppl can post info about their fighting and gaming community
Info on tourneys, events, something where tourney results could be discussed and maybe people attending those events could post
More discussion on matches and combovideos that are hosted here..and everything all the others mentioned above

All this talk really makes me want to bring back that fighters central idea with cyberfanatix. It'd be so cool to get more people, and join up the communities. Efficiency and usability wise though, I really like how the site is linked so closely to the forums.
